The workshop focused on the use of advanced river modelling software for hydro-morphological analysis, sustainable river management, river training, and water resource engineering, with special relevance to the complex braided river systems of the North Eastern region. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ranbir Singh, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, Brahmaputra Board, and featured insightful technical sessions and interactions with eminent national and international experts, including Dr. Achintya Bezbaruah from North Dakota State University, USA; Dr. Arup Kumar Sarma, Professor, IIT Guwahati; Dr. Ranjit Deka, Director, NEHARI, Brahmaputra Board; and Dr. Anupal Baruah from the University of Alabama, USA, who virtually attended the valedictory session. The event witnessed active participation from 30 delegates representing academic institutions, research organisations, and government departments across the nation. Participation in this workshop provided valuable exposure to the practical applications of BRAHMA software in river modelling, river training, and sustainable management of dynamic river systems.
