Invited Talk: Mastering Interview Preparation

On September 12, 2024, the Department of Computer Applications at Assam Don Bosco University hosted an invited talk titled “Mastering Interview Preparation: Essential Dos and Don’ts Before, During, and After the Interview. ” The session was conducted by Seemona Mahanta, a
seasoned professional with extensive experience in career counseling and interview preparation. The talk aimed to equip students with practical strategies to enhance their interview skills and
improve their chances of securing job placements. The objectives of the invited talk were to offer students a comprehensive understanding of effective interview preparation techniques, to discuss essential dos and don’ts that can significantly impact interview performance and to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to approach interviews with confidence.

Resource person Ms. Seemona Mahanta, Personality Transformation Coach, addressed several crucial aspects of interview preparation, categorized into three phases: before, during, and after
the interview. She suggested to thoroughly research the company they are interviewing with, including its mission, values, and recent developments. This knowledge demonstrates genuine interest and helps tailor responses during the interview. The importance of dressing professionally was emphasized. She encouraged students to practice answers to common interview questions and prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer, showcasing
engagement and interest.

As an outcome, the invited talk by Seemona Mahanta was found highly beneficial for students in the Department of Computer Applications at Assam Don Bosco University. By covering critical
aspects of interview preparation, she equipped students with valuable tools that will enhance their employability prospects. The department looks forward to organizing more such informative
