A technical workshop on “Generative AI and Internet of Things (IoT)” was organized on 25th June 2025 at Assam Don Bosco University, Azara Campus, by the Departments of Computer Applications and Computer Science & Engineering, aiming to enhance knowledge on the integration of emerging technologies. The keynote talk was delivered by Mr. Sanjeev Sarma, a Senior AI Architect and expert in AI systems integration and IoT development. He shared insights on how generative models are transforming smart technologies.
He discussed key concepts of Generative AI, including GANs, transformers, and large language models, and explained their application in IoT for predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and real-time adaptive systems across domains like smart homes, healthcare, and industrial monitoring. Mr. Sarma emphasized ethical considerations related to data privacy and security in connected environments and motivated students to pursue research and innovation at the intersection of AI and IoT. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A where implementation challenges and career opportunities were discussed. With the participation of over 35 students and faculty, the workshop strengthened interdepartmental collaboration and provided a practical understanding of the rapidly evolving AI-IoT ecosystem, making it a highly enriching learning experience.
