Department of Computer Applications
About the Department
The Department of Computer Applications was established in 2009 with the introduction of the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme, marking the beginning of its commitment to quality computing education. The launch of the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme in 2015 further expanded its academic offerings, followed by the introduction of the Integrated MCA programme in 2024, providing students with a seamless and comprehensive pathway in advanced computing studies.
Originally functioning under the Department of Computer Science & IT, the department became an independent entity in May 2019, enabling a more focused approach toward application-oriented learning, skill development, and industry relevance. The department emphasizes a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure through modern laboratories, project-based learning, internships, and continuous skill enhancement initiatives.
In addition to academics, the department actively organizes workshops, seminars, technical training programmes, hackathons, and expert sessions to foster innovation and collaboration. With a forward-looking vision, it aspires to strengthen research culture, expand industry partnerships, and integrate emerging technologies, preparing students to excel in the evolving digital landscape and contribute responsibly to society.
