Mobile platform on COVID-19
A team of four students, Anuron Patgiri, Sanjiban Roy, Injamul Islam, Jayantajit Gogoi and two faculty members, Mr. Rupesh Mandal, Ms. Nupur Choudhury of the University have launched a website to give information on coronavirus pandemic in the state to its residents and NRIs from the region.
The name of the website goes by www.covid19assam.in and it is a web-site cum dashboard which hosts the tracker of covid-19 infected patients in all the districts along with statistical graphs and many other imperative features. It also encloses some vital features like symptom checker, testing center information etc.

Patent Application by Students and Faculty members
- Three students, namely- Arunabh Saikia, Pinaz Dey, Saurav Kalita developed a concept of an eco-friendly water container for packaged drinking water of varying capacity. As claimed by the group, it can replace the existing plastic bottles which are a major environmental concern in our country. It is cost-efficient because it will be made up of recycled paper. The group has also filed a patent to preserve the novelty of the concept.
- Joint patent applied with Dr Vikramjit Kakati and Dr Anish Andheria for Automatic Elephant Detection System
- Joint patent applied by Rupesh Mandal and Nupur Choudhury
Design of a low-cost invasive ventilator
One of the faculty members of the Dept. Dr. Bobby Sharma along with a group in the name of “Save The Curve” had designed a low-cost invasive ventilator, which has been placed in top 50 ventilators by the challenged organized by The Montreal General Hospital Foundation and the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center”, Canada where 2639 participants,1029 teams from 94 countries were participated.
