About Us
About the Department
The Department of Legal Studies and Research, Assam Don Bosco University, has been established with the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) — a proud milestone in the University’s academic journey. The Department currently offers the 3-Year LL.B. Degree Programme for graduates and the 5-Year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Integrated Degree Programme for students who have completed their higher secondary education.
The Department’s pedagogy combines classroom instruction with clinical legal education — moot court exercises, mock trials, client counselling, legal drafting, court visits, and internships with courts, law firms, and legal aid bodies — ensuring graduates are courtroom-ready and industry-ready alike. As the first Don Bosco institution of higher learning in India, ADBU brings its hallmark of value-based, learner-centred education to the study of law.
