The session was led by Dr. Buljit Buragohain, Head of the Department of<br>Mechanical Engineering and Chairman of the Career Guidance Cell.<br>In his presentation, Dr. Buragohain spoke about the wide range of career choices available<br>to engineering students after completing their graduation. He gave clear explanations of<br>competitive examinations such as the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) and the<br>Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). He discussed why these examinations are<br>important, what kind of job opportunities they offer, and how students should plan their<br>preparation.<br>Dr. Buragohain also guided the students on how to prepare for interviews, emphasising<br>good communication skills, confidence, and technical knowledge. He explained the common<br>mistakes students make during interviews and how they can avoid them. In addition to job-<br>oriented guidance, he also spoke about higher education options, including M.Tech, MBA,<br>research fields, and opportunities to study abroad. He encouraged students to select<br>courses matching their interests and long-term goals.<br>Another important point he highlighted was that a person\u2019s hobbies, strengths, and<br>personality traits can play a major role in choosing the right career.
