The programme was conducted by the students of M.Sc. 4th Semester, Department of Botany, under the guidance of Dr. Thounaojam Premlata Devi, Assistant Professor<\/strong>, as part of the department\u2019s community engagement and extension activities. The initiative aimed to create awareness among school students about environmental conservation, responsible waste management, reduction of plastic use, and the importance of nutrition and healthy lifestyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students from Classes VII, VIII, and IX enthusiastically participated in the programme and actively engaged in the various awareness sessions. The outreach programme featured informative presentations and interactive discussions focusing on three key themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants were introduced to the importance of proper waste segregation and environmentally responsible disposal methods. The sessions emphasized the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste and highlighted their role in protecting the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Students learned about the harmful impacts of single-use plastics on ecosystems and human well-being. The programme encouraged the adoption of sustainable alternatives and inspired participants to incorporate eco-friendly practices into their daily routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The awareness sessions also focused on the significance of balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits, personal hygiene, and lifestyle choices that contribute to overall physical and mental well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The programme was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions, responding to questions, and sharing their perspectives on environmental and health-related issues.
