Invited Expert Talk on “MEMS for BHARAT: Enabling Smart Sensors through ISM”

An expert talk titled “MEMS for BHARAT: Enabling Smart Sensors through ISM” was successfully organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, on 23rd October 2025 at 11:45 AM in the Conference Hall, Azara Campus.

The session was delivered by Prof. Anurekha Sharma, Professor, Department of Electronic Science, Kurukshetra University, a distinguished academician and researcher in the field of electronic science and sensor technologies. The talk focused on the growing importance of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) in the development of smart sensors and their critical role in advancing India’s Indigenous Semiconductor Mission (ISM). Prof. Sharma elaborated on how MEMS-based sensors are transforming diverse application domains such as healthcare, automotive systems, consumer electronics, industrial automation, and defense. She also emphasized the relevance of MEMS technologies in achieving self-reliance under national initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India.
