BSc in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics originated as one of the constituent departments of the Department of Basic Sciences to facilitate teaching in the B.Tech and M.Tech. programmes under the School of Technology. The department then started functioning as an independent department under the School of Fundamental and Applied Sciences from 1st April 2018.
The department has a robust research ambience manifested by the wide range of research areas including number theory, algebra, analysis, optimization, graph theory, data science, fluid dynamics, Mathematics education etc. The department conducts workshops and hosts lectures delivered by eminent academicians at regular intervals to acquaint itself with state of the art in teaching and research. As a part of social commitment, the department strives for various outreach programmes to disseminate education to the ones lacking sufficient resource.
