The Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, organized an Innovative Teaching and Learning Programme<\/strong> for B. Pharm 3rd Semester students under the guidance of faculty in-charge Dr. Arindam Chatterjee<\/strong> and Mr. Peter De Roux Sumer<\/strong> on 22nd August 2025. The initiative was specially designed to strengthen important Programme Outcomes (POs) such as leadership, communication, ethics, teamwork, and problem-solving, while covering the subject\u2019s core concepts of drug solubility, solubility expressions, diffusion principles, and distribution law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike conventional lectures, the session combined interactive activities<\/strong>\u2014including gamified quizzes, role plays, group discussions, and case-based challenges<\/strong>\u2014to encourage active student participation. The case studies emphasized real-life pharmaceutical applications, such as drug solubility enhancement and the use of eco-friendly solvents, while role plays trained students to simplify complex concepts for patients, thus enhancing their communication and ethical skills. The programme structure included dividing students into four groups<\/strong>, each guided by two elected student leaders. This format fostered peer learning, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving<\/strong>, with faculty members acting as facilitators rather than traditional lecturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting programme outcomes<\/strong>, the session promoted leadership (PO4), sustainability awareness (PO7), ethical responsibility (PO8), and teamwork with communication skills (PO9). The competitions saw enthusiastic participation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • \ud83e\udd47 Group A<\/strong>, led by Husniyara Khatun<\/strong> and Issaac Humble Khonglam<\/strong>, emerged as First Prize Winner<\/strong> with 45 marks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \ud83e\udd48 Group B<\/strong>, under the leadership of Iong Shillong Amri<\/strong> and Iaikmenlang Marwein<\/strong>, secured the Runners-Up position<\/strong> with 40 marks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Speaking about the success of the initiative, faculty members emphasized that the blend of games, discussions, and real-life case applications<\/strong> transformed routine classroom learning into an engaging, interactive, and application-oriented experience<\/strong>. The students not only gained deeper insights into pharmaceutical solubility but also enhanced their skills in leadership, teamwork, ethics, and communication<\/strong>, aligning with the NAAC\u2019s Attributes 5 (teaching-learning modules<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
