The Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025<\/strong> with a spirited Debate Competition<\/strong> held on October 27, 2025<\/strong>, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.<\/strong> The event witnessed active participation from 254 students and faculty members<\/strong>, reflecting their collective commitment to integrity, transparency, and accountability in public life. Observed annually across India under the guidance of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC)<\/strong> to coincide with the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel<\/strong>, this year\u2019s theme \u2014 \u201cVigilance: Our Shared Responsibility\u201d<\/em> \u2014 emphasized ethical conduct and honesty in all aspects of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. Parag Jyoti Nath (B.Pharm 5th Semester)<\/strong>, followed by an inspiring speech from Dr. Raja Chakraborty, Principal<\/strong>, who urged everyone to act as vigilant citizens. The gathering then took part in the Online Vigilance Pledge<\/strong>, demonstrated by Mr. L. Sanathoiba Singha<\/strong>, reaffirming their commitment to ethical behaviour. The highlight of the event was the Debate Competition<\/strong> on the thought-provoking topic, \u201cTechnology can eliminate corruption better than moral education.\u201d<\/em> Participants presented strong arguments both for and against the motion, followed by an engaging rebuttal session. Performances were judged on content, clarity, confidence, rebuttal skills, and overall impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants included Kh Linjel Thoi, Bidyut Bikash Laskar, Manish Kumar Jadab, Sradhya Das, Gyanjit K. Sarma, Sunisha Nongrum, Bhagawat Pritom Buragohain, Tobias Lyngdoh, Thomas Suchiang, Khized Basumatary, Abhijit Jena, and P.C. Vanlalriahti<\/strong>.
Manish Kumar Jadab<\/strong> emerged as the Winner<\/strong>, while Kh Linjel Thoi<\/strong> was declared Runner-up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An award ceremony<\/strong> followed, during which trophies and certificates were presented to the winners, and participation certificates were distributed to all contestants. Dr. Manas Jyoti Kapil<\/strong> delivered the Vote of Thanks<\/strong>, expressing gratitude to all participants, judges, and organisers for their efforts in making the event a grand success.
