An online Chetna Series Lecture was displayed in the Institute of Pharmacy, ADBU on 24th October 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM<\/strong> as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2025. The session featured Sh. Gaurav Gupta<\/strong>, Director\/Scientist \u2018F\u2019 from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, who addressed critical contemporary issues related to cybercrime and digital safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event saw active participation from 157 pharmacy students<\/strong> across academic levels\u2014D.Pharm 1st year (15), D.Pharm 2nd year (27), B.Pharm 1st semester (47), B.Pharm 5th semester (45), and B.Pharm 7th semester (23)\u2014reflecting strong institutional engagement in cybersecurity awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sh. Gupta provided an insightful overview of the cybercrime landscape<\/strong>, highlighting emerging threats such as phishing, ransomware, identity theft, and social engineering attacks. Real-world case studies, particularly those affecting educational institutions, underscore the importance of vigilance in the digital environment. The lecture further emphasized essential cyber safety practices<\/strong>, including strong password management, two-factor authentication, regular software updates, responsible browsing habits, and awareness of malicious downloads. Participants also learned effective strategies for to prevent data breaches and identity theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the importance of responsible online conduct<\/strong>, the speaker encouraged students to adhere to cybersecurity policies, avoid unauthorized access, and promptly report suspicious digital activities. He also discussed the Government of India\u2019s \u201cCyber Jagrit Bharat\u201d<\/strong> initiative, aimed at fostering a cyber-aware society with active participation from youth and educational institutions. The session addressed several student-specific concerns<\/strong>, such as online exam fraud, credential theft, inappropriate online interactions, and protecting academic work from plagiarism and unauthorized use. The interactive format allowed participants to raise queries and share personal concerns, enhancing practical awareness and understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event aimed to promote cybersecurity and digital safety awareness<\/strong> among pharmacy students and faculty.
