The Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), successfully conducted a three-day Hands-on Training and Demonstration of the Waters High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) System<\/strong> from 19\u201321 May 2026<\/strong> at the Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL), Tapesia Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training programme was organised to enhance the analytical and research capabilities of faculty members by providing practical exposure to the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the newly acquired Waters HPLC system. The sessions were led by Mr. Bhaskar Chowdhury<\/strong>, Senior Service Engineer, Waters (India) Pvt. Ltd., under the coordination of Dr. Manas Jyoti Kapil<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of ten participants<\/strong>, comprising eight faculty members from the Institute of Pharmacy<\/strong> and two Ph.D. scholars from the Department of Life Sciences<\/strong>, actively participated in the intensive training programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day focused on the installation, configuration, and system verification of the Waters HPLC instrument, including hardware diagnostics and software integration. On the second day, participants received comprehensive theoretical and software training covering chromatographic principles, mobile phase preparation, method development, sequence creation, and detector wavelength settings. The final day was devoted to extensive hands-on operation, where participants prepared samples, executed analytical runs, interpreted chromatograms, and learned routine maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme aimed to strengthen operational readiness, develop analytical competency, and promote the autonomous utilization of sophisticated analytical instrumentation for research and teaching. Participants gained valuable practical experience in HPLC system management, enabling them to conduct advanced pharmaceutical analyses with greater confidence and precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers highlighted that such capacity-building initiatives are essential for promoting high-quality research, enhancing laboratory infrastructure, and equipping faculty members with contemporary analytical skills in pharmaceutical sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Institute of Pharmacy expressed its gratitude to Waters (India) Pvt. Ltd.<\/strong> and resource person Mr. Bhaskar Chowdhury<\/strong> for their technical expertise and valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the training programme. The initiative reflects Assam Don Bosco University’s continued commitment to fostering excellence in research, innovation, and advanced scientific education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
