The Department of English was launched in February 2013 with the first batch of PhD students being admitted in the Department.

The year 2017 saw the launching of Bachelor of Arts with honours in English and the first batch of students started their class on 18th August 2017.

The department in order to lay the foundation of the modern trends in Literature has come up with a Literary Club. The club activity mainly involves creative writing, presentation and discussion, for both Faculty and Students, based directly or indirectly from the curriculum, interdisciplinary subjects and upon the existing and emerging trends in the field of Literature and Language. The aim is to develop a research based thought process to keep abreast with the latest in the field.
