As part of the nationwide Swachhata Special Campaign 5.0<\/em> initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the NSS Cell, organised a week-long cleanliness initiative from 24th to 27th October 2025. The campaign aimed to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental responsibility while fostering a sense of social awareness and active citizenship among students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campaign Overview<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was conducted in three interactive and engaging phases designed to blend creativity, action and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 1- Creative Expression on Swachhata Theme (24th October 2025)<\/strong>: Students from the Department of Psychology showcased their artistic and innovative talents through posters, recycled products, short write-ups, slogans, photographs and art pieces centered on the themes of cleanliness, hygiene and sustainability. The creative displays reflected the students\u2019 awareness and commitment towards building a cleaner and greener environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 2- Department Cleanliness Drive (25th October 2025):<\/strong> All students of the department actively participated in a comprehensive cleanliness drive. They took responsibility for cleaning their classrooms, corridors and the Psychology Lab. The activity not only enhanced the physical environment of the department but also reinforced the value of collective effort and responsibility in maintaining cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 3- Community Outreach (27th October 2025):<\/strong> As part of the outreach initiative, selected students visited a nearby government school, Kamarkuchi L.P.School, where they conducted an interactive awareness session on cleanliness and hygiene. They also exhibited the creative items prepared during Phase 1 and engaged the school students through demonstrations and discussions on sustainable practices and personal hygiene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outcome<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swachhata Special Campaign 5.0<\/em> witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members. The activities encouraged teamwork, environmental responsibility, and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and sustainability. The outreach phase particularly helped in extending the message of Swachhata beyond the campus, creating a positive impact on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this campaign, the Department of Psychology reaffirmed its commitment to promoting social responsibility and civic engagement among students. The department aims to continue organizing such initiatives to nurture awareness, empathy, and a cleaner, healthier future for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
