{"id":3702,"date":"2026-08-18T05:47:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T05:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.dbuniversity.ac.in\/dept-of-psychology\/?p=3702"},"modified":"2026-08-21T05:55:44","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T05:55:44","slug":"psychological-counselling-and-student-wellness-initiatives-at-assam-don-bosco-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.dbuniversity.ac.in\/dept-of-psychology\/psychological-counselling-and-student-wellness-initiatives-at-assam-don-bosco-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Psychological Counselling and Student Wellness Initiatives at Assam Don Bosco University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ms. Krishnapriya Wangkhem, Counsellor and Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Assam Don Bosco University has been actively contributing to student well-being and mental health awareness through a range of counselling, wellness and psychoeducational initiatives conducted across the University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the <strong>BA First Semester Orientation Programme<\/strong>, Ms. Wangkhem carried out a session on <strong>\u201cMental Wellness: Building a Healthy Mind for Academic Success.\u201d<\/strong> The session focused on helping students understand the importance of mental well-being, develop healthy coping strategies and maintain a balanced approach towards their academic and personal lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also participated in the <strong>inauguration of the new academic year<\/strong>, where she introduced students to the <strong>Psychological Counselling Services and the Counselling Unit under the Department of Psychology, Assam Don Bosco University<\/strong>. The session familiarised students with the counselling support available at the University and highlighted the importance of seeking professional psychological support when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the <strong>Induction Programme for ITEP students<\/strong>, Ms. Wangkhem conducted a session on <strong>Stress Management<\/strong>, addressing common sources of stress among students and discussing practical strategies for managing academic pressure, emotional challenges and everyday stressors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through these initiatives, Ms. Wangkhem continues to strengthen the University&#8217;s commitment to <strong>student mental health, psychological well-being and holistic development<\/strong>.
