Zoology 4<sup>th<\/sup> Semester (Wildlife Specialization)<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>B.Sc. Zoology 4<sup>th<\/sup> Semester (Honours)<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>B.Sc. Zoology 6<sup>th<\/sup> Semester (Minor)<\/strong>&nbsp;undertook an academic field visit to Kaziranga National Park on 6<sup>th<\/sup> \u20137 February 2026. The visit was organised as part of their curriculum to provide practical exposure to wildlife ecology and protected area management. The students were accompanied by&nbsp;Dr. Jane Wanry Shangpliang, Head of the Department,&nbsp;Dr. Biswajit Chakdar, Assistant Professor, and Mr. Dadul Kalita, Laboratory Assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group reached Kohora on 6<sup>th<\/sup> February 2026 and visited the&nbsp;Kaziranga National Orchid and Biodiversity Park&nbsp;in the afternoon, where students explored orchid diversity and biodiversity exhibits representing Northeast India. In the evening, an interactive session was held at the&nbsp;Kohora Convention Centre&nbsp;with&nbsp;Mr. Arun Vignesh, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Eastern Assam Wildlife Division. He elaborated on wildlife and habitat monitoring, population estimation methods, habitat management practices, and anti-poaching strategies implemented in Kaziranga. The session proved to be a highly enriching learning experience for the students.
