About the Department

Integrated Teacher Education Programme is a noble endeavour to address the long-standing issues of quality and accessibility in Teacher Education. Launched under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, this four-year undergraduate Program integrates a Bachelor’s degree with Teacher Education, effectively streamlining the journey for aspiring educators. The programme emphasises a multidisciplinary approach, fostering expertise in pedagogy, subject knowledge and value-based education while also promoting cultural awareness and inclusivity. Further, the programme includes extensive internships and school-based experiences, ensuring the graduates are well prepared for the challenges of real-world classrooms. By developing skilled, reflective and empathetic educators, the ITEP has the potential to significantly transform the education landscape in India, enabling schools to provide holistic and impactful learning experiences to the students.

Eligibility

Passed Higher Secondary School Leaving Examination or equivalent with 50% of the aggregate.

Infrastructure and Facilities

The university has excellent infrastructure facilities to meet the requirements of the new programme, which are detailed below:

Classrooms

There are 14 spacious and well-ventilated rooms, with technology integrated with modern infrastructure to enhance the learning experience.  All classrooms are well furnished to accommodate various teaching styles, from traditional lectures to interactive discussions and group work.

Multipurpose Halls

There are 5 multipurpose halls to provide versatile space for a variety of activities, including assemblies, conferences, performances, sporting events, cultural activities and personality development programmes, which are a regular feature of the university

Library

There is an excellent library and information centre with access to information and opportunities for reading, research, and lifelong learning. A total of 5781 titles relevant to ITEP are available, making it a total volume of 10,784 books in print available in the Central Library at Tapesia Campus. The library has access to Digital Resources: online databases, e-books, and other digital resources. The library subscribes to all important Newspapers, Magazines, and National and International journals.

Computer Lab

There are 4 computer laboratories in the university with a total of 136 computers and one lab set apart for ITEP with 50 computers which is equipped with high-speed internet available, to students and faculty. It can provide students with access to digital resources, online libraries, educational websites, and other digital resources for research and learning and to develop essential computer skills.

Language Lab

There is a language lab which is equipped with audio-visual aids and software designed to facilitate language learning. It provides a controlled environment where students can practice and improve their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Laboratories

There are spacious well designed, modern and well-equipped labs with specialized equipment relevant to the specific discipline. for practical work  and research work. There are labs for Physics , Chemistry, Bio-sciences, Zoology, Botany, Mathematics,  Psychology and Geography.

Indoor Games Hall

An indoor Game Hall is functional for the purpose of various indoor games and activities. Indoor games facilities include badminton courts, and table tennis tables. These facilities are well-maintained and equipped with appropriate lighting and ventilation to accommodate different types of games, providing a controlled and comfortable environment for participants.

Outdoor Games Facilities

Outdoor games facilities include football ground, cricket pitches, Basketball Courts and Volleyball Court. These are equipped with appropriate safety measures.

Gymnasium

Gymnasium is functional which is essential for promoting physical fitness and overall well-being among students and staff.  Various equipment caters to different fitness levels and preference.

Kitchen Garden

A garden is set apart for students to learn about sustainable agriculture, healthy eating, and environmental stewardship. Adequate space is allotted for growing a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs and to teach students about gardening techniques, nutrition, and environmental sustainability.

CCTV

The CCTV surveillance is set to ensure security and safety in the campus and is strategically placed to cover all critical areas, including entrances, exits, hallways, and parking lots.

Fire Safety Measures

Fire safety is a paramount concern in our institution and hence every floor is equipped with the fire safety measures.

Common Rest Room for Boys and Girls

There are separate restroom facilities for boys and girls with a view of creating safe, comfortable, and respectful environments.

Disabled Friendly Toilet

There are Disabled Friendly toilets in every block with an easy access to enable the students to use restrooms safely and comfortably.
