Invited Talk on “Sensor Technology and Its Applications in Modern Communication Systems”

The Department organised an invited talk on “Sensor Technology” on 22nd April 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, which was attended by 90 participants. The session was delivered by Dr. Erwin Fuhrer, a German national and faculty member at IIT Guwahati, who provided an insightful overview of sensor technologies widely used in modern mobile phones. He placed special emphasis on sensor calibration techniques and their role in minimizing false-negative signals, thereby improving system reliability and accuracy. Dr. Fuhrer also highlighted the significance of sensors in antenna systems and satellite communication, explaining how they contribute to precise signal detection, enhanced performance, and dependable space-based communication systems. The talk enriched participants’ understanding of real-world sensor applications and emerging technological challenges.
