About the Department

The Department of Civil Engineering, one of the youngest members of the Assam Don Bosco University School of Technology (ADBUSOT), was established in the year 2011 with an aim to provide state of the art education to the students through quality teaching guided by innovative research and consultancy as well as societal needs towards sustainable development. The Department with a strong team of well qualified and diversely specialized faculty members and staff provides special attention towards the fundamentals and field related Civil Engineering issues of INFRA-STRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT right from surveying, planning, geo-technical investigation, structural design and construction engineering which are vital components for creating competent engineers to serve in real life situations. Department arranges visit to construction sites where latest technologies in construction and brain storming sessions , seminars, symposium which enhance the ability to think out of the box and to come up with innovative ideas. This department can take pride to mention that students from all over the north eastern states are undergoing studies in this department and majority of the students passed out during last four years are efficiently serving in their respective states. M.Tech. in Civil Engineering spanning across various specialities offered by Civil Engineering Department is aimed at shaping the enrolled students’ managerial skills in the field of engineering, and prepare them for working as Strategists who can efficiently fulfil the production, commercial, and technological demands of an organization.

Research & Development
  •  The Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, proudly announces that Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen, Assistant Professor, has been awarded the CDRI Fellowship on 19 June 2025 for the year 2025–26. This recognition highlights his outstanding contribution to the field of civil engineering and resilience research. The department congratulates Dr. Sen on this achievement, which will further inspire students and faculty towards academic and research excellence.

Success Stories
  • Adrian Pynbhalang Nongspung (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2026) got selected for the position of Surveyor Grade 1 in the Directorate of Housing, Government of Meghalaya.
  • Surojeet Kar (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2026) has started a paid semester internship as Site Engineer at Onycon Infrastructure.
  • Jibanjyoti Goswami (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2026) has been selected for the role of Executive – Business Development at Shyam Steel – Sturdflex Solutions Private Limited.
  • Ms. Hritangkhi Kashyap and Mr. Yepekah K. Shohe, under the mentorship of Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen and Dr. Arindom Bora, secured the Runner-Up Award in the B.Tech Student Category at the Dalmia Cement Tech Expert Conclave 2026 for their research on “Evaluating Ferro-Cement and Bamboo as Sustainable Alternatives for Disaster-Resilient Construction.”
  • Avoy Gogoi (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2025) was placed as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Indus Towers Ltd.
  • Md. Sarfaraaz Ahmed (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2025) started his industry career through a Traineeship at Skipper Ltd.
  • Naphisha Thabah (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2024) began her professional journey as a Trainee Engineer at Schwing Stetter Pvt. Ltd.
  • Kevichüto Peseyie (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2024) secured the role of Assistant Engineer in the Works and Housing Department, Government of Nagaland.
  • Ika S. Kiho (B.Tech Civil Engineering, 2020) is serving as Junior Engineer in PHED, Government of Nagaland.
