Innovation, teamwork, and a passion for sustainable engineering came together in a proud moment for the Department of Civil Engineering at Assam Don Bosco University, as its students participated in the Tech Expert Conclave organized by Dalmia Cement on 23rd March 2026 at Radisson Blu, Guwahati, where six student groups, guided by Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen, Dr. Arindom Bora, Ms. Sutanuka Nath, and Mr. Ankur Goswami, showcased their research ideas in a competitive setting, with three teams earning a place in the final round and gaining the opportunity to attend an enriching technical talk and panel discussion followed by dinner.
Standing out among them was the exceptional performance of Ms. Hritangkhi Kashyap and Mr. Yepekah K. Shohe, who secured the Runner-Up Award in the B.Tech Student Category for their impactful research titled “Evaluating Ferro-Cement and Bamboo as Sustainable Alternatives for Disaster-Resilient Construction,” under the mentorship of Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen and Dr. Arindom Bora, receiving a certificate and a ₹10,000 gift voucher, while the commendable efforts of fellow finalists Brahmacharimayum Nicky, Subhjyoti Khumukcham, Newton Sapam, and Sendonglemla Jamir further reflected the department’s strong culture of excellence, innovation, and commitment to addressing real-world challenges through sustainable engineering solutions.
