Faculty from Department in Assam Don Bosco University Delegation Team Visits Taiwan to Strengthen International Academic Collaboration

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), continues to expand its global engagement through a high-level academic visit to Taiwan. The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening international academic collaboration, research partnerships, and student mobility between ADBU and leading Taiwanese institutions, as part of the University’s strategic initiative to enhance global academic cooperation and innovation-driven education. Dr. Alexy Bhowmick, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, was part of a six-member university delegation representing ADBU during the visit from 16-22 December 2025.

During the visit, the delegation participated in the 2025 STEPT Global Forum on Science and Technology Education and Practical Talent Cultivation, hosted by Lunghwa University of Science and Technology on 18 December 2025 at Taoyuan. The forum brought together senior academic leaders from universities across Taiwan, Japan, India, Korea, Thailand, and other regions to discuss advancements in science and technology education, industry–academia collaboration, and the development of practice-oriented and innovative talent. The delegation also visited leading Taiwanese institutions, including Fu Jen Catholic University, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU), National Chung Cheng University (CCU), Cheng Shiu University, and National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST), where discussions focused on academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

Key areas of engagement included faculty and student exchange programs, joint research and co-supervision of postgraduate students, innovation-driven teaching practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, and emerging technologies. The delegation also participated in cultural and academic enrichment activities and interacted with ADBU alumni pursuing higher studies in Taiwan. Notably, multiple students from the Department have expressed strong interest in pursuing internships and higher studies in Taiwan, and this number is expected to grow in the coming years as institutional collaborations deepen. The visit reflects ADBU’s strong commitment to internationalization and is expected to lead to long-term institutional partnerships, enhanced research collaboration, and expanded academic mobility opportunities, contributing to the development of globally competent graduates aligned with the University’s vision of holistic education.
