On March 7, 2025, fourth-semester students from the Department of Social Work, along with 11 students from the Department of English, Assam Don Bosco University, participated in the Red Fest: The Northeast Multi-Media Campaign 2025, organised by the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) in collaboration with the university’s Red Ribbon Club. Held under the theme “North East Stands United Against HIV/AIDS,” the event aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and reduce stigma across the Northeastern states, with a goal to end its spread by 2035. The programme featured performances by leading bands from all eight Northeastern states and included interactive sessions with students to promote empathy, knowledge, and responsible behaviour. Dignitaries such as Mr. Ashok Singhal, Minister of State Health and Family Welfare, and Ms. V. Hekali Zhimomi, Director General, National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), graced the event. The students actively engaged in discussions, gaining valuable insights into HIV/AIDS, substance use, and available treatments, making the event both educational and inspiring.
