One Day Workshop on Service Learning
The Department of Mathematics, Assam Don Bosco University, organized a one-day workshop on ‘Service Learning’ on 12th September 2025 for the students of the Department. The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to the concept and practice of service learning and to highlight its importance in integrating community service with academic learning.
The resource person for the workshop was Ms. Alinisha Boro, who shared her valuable insights and experiences on the topic. She explained how service learning bridges the gap between theory and practice by encouraging students to apply their classroom knowledge to real-life community problems. Her interactive presentation helped students understand how mathematics and other academic disciplines can contribute to societal development.
During the session, Ms. Boro emphasized the role of reflective learning and community engagement in personal and professional growth. She presented several examples and case studies demonstrating the impact of service learning projects in education and social development.
