Workshop on Virtual Astronomy

The Astronomy Club of the Department of Physics, organized a two-day workshop on 8th and 9th November 2024 titled “Workshop on Virtual Astronomy,” which was attended by graduate, postgraduate, and PhD students of the department. The objective of this workshop was to introduce students to the fundamentals and tools of astronomy through virtual platforms, allowing them to explore celestial phenomena virtually, from anywhere and at any time. Stellarium, a virtual planetarium software, facilitated the students in gaining practical skills in navigating the night sky, understanding celestial motions, and simulating astronomical observations. The resource person for these two days of learning was Mr. Parag Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Rangapara College.
