Computational Skills in Scientific Analysis using Python

A three-day training programme titled “Computational Skills in Scientific Analysis using Python” was successfully conducted from 8–10 January 2026. The programme aimed to equip participants with foundational and applied Python skills for scientific computing in physics, covering numerical methods, data visualization, and computational modelling.

The sessions combined lecture-based instruction with live computational demonstrations, using widely adopted Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and SymPy. The programme was conducted by Dr. Parag Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, Rangapara College (Autonomous), Sonitpur, Assam.

Programme Highlights:

Day 1: Python fundamentals, scientific libraries, vector algebra, complex functions, and visualization of physical systems

Day 2: Numerical differentiation and integration, matrix computations, scalar and vector fields, with applications in classical and quantum physics

Day 3: Solutions of ordinary and partial differential equations, including applications of heat, wave, and Laplace equations
