NET Coaching programME

The Department of Physics, Assam Don Bosco University is offering coaching for its students to help them prepare effectively for the National Eligibility Test (NET) exam. NET is a prestigious examination conducted in India to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges. Dr. Hillol Biswas (secured 2nd rank in CSIR NET/JRF exam), Postdoctoral Fellow at Harish-Chandra Research Institute, is the main instructors for this coaching classes. In addition, Dr. Rissnalin Syiemlieh (SLET qualified), Assistant Professor Saint Mary’s College, Shillong and Mr. Gyati Guth (NET qualified), an alumnus of Department of Physics, ADBU will be guiding the students in this coaching program. Dr. C Satyananda Singh from Department of Physics, ADBU is the in-charge of conducting this coaching classes.

The NET coaching classes are arranged once in a weak (every Saturday) in online mode. Each class is of two-hour duration. The course duration ranges from 1 to 2 months, depending on the subject and level of preparation required. The first class of this coaching program started on 8th February, 2025. A total of 32 students (MSc 4th Sem students = 15, MSc 2nd Sem students = 7, Alumni = 7 and research scholars = 3) have joined the coaching classes. During the classes, the expert instructor guided the students through previous year question solving session and provided important tricks for solving problems. The students were highly benefitted by the structured approach, live doubt clearing session and personalized feedback from the instructor. The lectures are recorded for the purpose of revision. NET coaching is an initiative aimed at enhancing students’ academic and research careers. With continuous improvements and better accessibility, it can further empower aspiring candidates in achieving their goals.
