About the Department

The Department of Public Administration at Assam Don Bosco University was established in 2021 in response to the growing need to offer this discipline, particularly for civil service aspirants. Public Administration has consistently been one of the most preferred subjects in competitive examinations, as it equips students with essential management and organizational skills that are vital for effective public service. At the same time, it deepens their understanding of governmental structures, processes, and institutional functioning.

Moreover, for those aspiring to pursue careers in Academics and Research, the subject presents promising opportunities. With an increasing number of institutions across North East India introducing Public Administration into their curricula, there is an emerging demand for qualified academicians and researchers in this field.

The Department of Public Administration strives to nurture competent graduates who aspire to become effective administrators, dedicated academicians, and skilled industry professionals. It aims to strengthen students’ ability to understand and critically analyse government policies and their implementation, while equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to manage public institutions efficiently.

At the same time, the department is committed to preparing students to drive meaningful and positive change in the public sector and society at large.

The Department of Public Administration at the Assam Don Bosco University seeks to:
