Strengthening Industry Connect at the North East India Infrastructure Summit 2026

A delegation of faculties from the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, comprising Dr. Ankur Goswami, HoD, Mr. Supran Chakravarty, Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen, and Dr. Arindom Bora, participated in the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026 held at Shillong, Meghalaya, on 15 June 2026. The summit brought together government agencies, industry leaders, infrastructure developers, academic institutions, and key stakeholders to deliberate on infrastructure growth in the North Eastern Region, with a major highlight being the announcement by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, on large-scale road infrastructure development in the North East. During the event, the ADBU delegation held productive interactions with representatives from Star Cement, including Mr. Amar Jyoti Baruah, Business Development Head, and discussed possible collaboration in academic interaction, technical support, student exposure, training, and future joint activities, including the initiation of an MoU. The team also interacted with representatives from Dalmia Cement to explore further academic and industry-oriented collaborations, making the visit a meaningful step towards strengthening industry linkages, student development, technical engagement, and institutional networking in the infrastructure and construction materials sector.
