Civil Engineering Faculty Present Interdisciplinary Research at ICSSR-NERC Sponsored International Seminar

Faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, participated in the first day of the two-day ICSSR-NERC Sponsored International Seminar on “The Intersection of Faith and Healing: Therapeutic Dimensions of Magic, Mantra, Ritualistic Food, and Occult Practices in Indian and Indigenous Knowledge,” held on 27–28 July 2026 at Mystique Mayong Eco Resort, Mayong. The seminar was organised by ADBU-CIIKS in collaboration with Mayang Anchalik College and Mystique Mayong Eco Resort. During the technical sessions on 27 July, Dr. Pori Das, Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, presented the paper titled “Investigation of the Acoustic Properties of Traditional Ahom Lime Mortar in Ancient Temples of Assam for Sound Healing.” Dr. Ankur Goswami, Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, presented the paper titled “Built Form as a Healing Medium: Environmental Comfort, Cultural Experience and Socio-Economic Sustainability of Indigenous Ritual Spaces,” co-authored with Ms. Sutanuka Nath, Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, and Dr. Bijita Sarmah, Head, Department of Economics, Bikali College, Duphdhara, Assam. Their participation highlighted the department’s interdisciplinary engagement with heritage conservation, indigenous construction knowledge, healing environments and sustainable built forms.
