ADBU Civil Engineering Hosts Industry-Linked Training on Construction Materials & Practices

The Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with Star Cement Ltd., organised a two-day Training cum Certification Program on Building Materials, Construction, and Good Construction Practices on 4–5 February 2026 at the Azara Campus. Coordinated by Mr. Ankur Goswami, Mr. Supran Chakravarty, and Ms. Sutanuka Nath, the programme combined technical sessions with hands-on laboratory training to strengthen practical understanding of construction quality and site practices.

Experts from academia and industry discussed material selection, cement and concrete performance, site management, safety, and modern construction techniques, followed by interactive discussions with participants. Laboratory demonstrations on cement setting time, concrete compressive strength, and Universal Testing Machine operations provided valuable practical exposure. The programme concluded with certificate distribution, reinforcing industry–academia collaboration and enhancing participants’ confidence in implementing quality construction practices.
