As part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 (27th October – 2nd November), the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, organised a Special Talk on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility” on 27th October 2025 at the Azara Campus. The session was delivered by Mr. Dilip Deka, Consulting Civil Engineer and Former Additional Chief Engineer, Government of Assam. Addressing 64 final-year students, Mr. Deka highlighted the vital role of engineers in upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability in public works. He discussed preventive vigilance measures such as e-procurement, third-party audits, and digital monitoring, while encouraging the use of AI, drones, and GIS to enhance project oversight. The talk inspired students to recognise vigilance as a professional and moral responsibility—integral to ethical engineering practice and nation-building.
