The Department of Commerce, School of Commerce and Management, Assam Don Bosco University, Airport Road, Azara, Guwahati, organised a Parents–Teachers Meeting (PTM) on 11 October 2025 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Conference Hall. The programme was coordinated by Ms. Sushmita Chowdhury and witnessed active participation from the parents of B.Com and M.Com students, along with faculty members and students.
The programme began with a welcome address by Father Joseph Nallanat, who highlighted the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers in shaping students’ development. Mr. Biju Mani Das, Head of the Department, outlined the objectives of the meeting, while Father K. J. Thomas shared an inspiring message on the role of parental support. Dr Manoranjan Kalita, Director, SOT presented the growth and achievements of the Commerce Department, and Mr. Anupam Gohain, Training and Placement Officer, spoke about skill development and career opportunities.
Faculty members were introduced, followed by a presentation on the Best Practices of the Don Bosco System by Sir Labo Kesh Nath. Cultural and campus life segments, including a song and dance performance, added vibrancy to the event. Student representative Ms Catherine Gangte shared reflections on the value of PTMs, and an interactive feedback session allowed parents to express their views and suggestions. Alumni interactions and a poem recital further enriched the programme.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ma’am Anuradha Bhuyan, followed by a joint lunch, group photo session, and individual parent–teacher discussions. Overall, the PTM strengthened communication between parents and the institution and reinforced the shared commitment towards holistic student development.
