Industrial Visit to ITC Limited, Rampur

The Department of Commerce, Assam Don Bosco University, Azara, organized an Industrial Visit to ITC Limited, Rampur Unit, Assam, on 29th January 2026 for B.Com 4th Semester students. A total of 41 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit.

The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to the functioning of a leading FMCG manufacturing unit. The programme began with a safety briefing and an informative session by the company’s HR Manager, who highlighted the importance of quality control, hygiene standards, and safety protocols in industrial operations.

Students were given a guided tour of the facility, where they observed various stages of production, including raw material handling, processing, quality control, packaging, warehousing, and dispatch. The visit also offered insights into advanced automation, demand-based production, and the Integrated Consumer, Manufacturing & Logistics (ICML) model adopted by the company.

An interactive session with company officials further enhanced students’ understanding of production management, cost efficiency, and logistics systems. The visit was highly informative and enriching, successfully bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industrial exposure.
