The Department of Social Work organized an Industry Expert Talk on “Eco-social Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement” on 21 August 2025 at the university campus. The session was delivered by Mr. Farmer Samir Ranjan Bordoloi, Professor of Practice and founder of the Green Commandos Forum, and was attended by 81 MSW first-year students. The talk highlighted alternative models of entrepreneurship rooted in sustainability, community empowerment, and ecological responsibility. Drawing from his extensive grassroots experience, Mr. Bordoloi emphasized organic farming, preservation of indigenous seeds, and youth-led community engagement as pathways to social transformation. The interactive session encouraged students to reflect on entrepreneurship as social responsibility and inspired them to align professional aspirations with environmental stewardship and community well-being, reinforcing the department’s commitment to experiential and value-based learning.
