The Department of Social Work, Assam Don Bosco University, organized a three-day certificate course on Family Therapy for MSW third-semester students. The program covered key concepts of family dynamics, including family life cycles, characteristics, and genograms, complemented by interactive learning through role plays, group discussions, and case-based analyses.
The sessions also introduced therapeutic approaches such as structural and narrative models, along with family assessment techniques focusing on communication patterns, roles, boundaries, and emotional relationships. The course provided practical insights into family therapy processes, strengthening students’ competencies for professional practice, with the participation of 45 students.
