Internationalization: Lecture on Comparative Methodologies – Theories in Social Work

The Department of Social Work at Assam Don Bosco University organized an international lecture on Comparative Methodologies – Theories in Social Work on 02 February 2026 under the course SWRS0042 – Social Work Research and Statistics. The session was delivered by Prof. Janet Carter Anand, Professor Emerita, University of Eastern Finland. The lecture introduced students to comparative approaches in social work research, emphasizing the role of historical, cultural, and theoretical contexts in shaping practice. It highlighted global perspectives, methodological diversity, and critical reflection in knowledge production. The session strengthened students’ research orientation and enhanced their capacity to engage with internationally informed social work theories and practices.
