Internationalization: Lecture on Group Work in Social Work – Understanding Belbin’s Nine Team Roles

The Department of Social Work at Assam Don Bosco University organized an international lecture on Group Work in Social Work: Understanding Belbin’s Nine Team Roles on 03 February 2026 under the course SWPG0041 – Social Work Practice with Groups. Menna Kuivalainen from Kasvunpolku Oy and the University of Eastern Finland facilitated the session. The lecture introduced students to Belbin’s team role theory, emphasizing the importance of group dynamics, role distribution, and effective collaboration in social work practice. Through interactive discussions, students explored how diverse roles contribute to team functioning, thereby strengthening their skills in group work, leadership, and professional practice.
