5 June 2025: The Department of Public Administration at Assam Don Bosco University celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, with a theme centred on “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” The program, held in the BA II Classroom, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and scholars, aiming to spread awareness on ecosystem restoration and sustainable living. Dr. Santhosh J., who coordinated the event, inaugurated it with a welcome address, emphasising the university’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The core of the event was a series of student-led presentations that creatively highlighted key environmental concerns, responsibilities, and actionable solutions, using various mediums such as speeches, poetry, and visual aids.
Particularly noteworthy was a talk titled “Achieving Environmental Sustainability,” which offered insights into global frameworks like the Paris Agreement while connecting them to local practices and university-level green initiatives. PhD scholars also contributed to the event’s academic depth and inspired undergraduates through their active presence. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Santhosh J., who acknowledged the presenters and encouraged the continuation of such environmentally conscious efforts. The event effectively instilled a sense of responsibility and collective action among the participants, underlining the shared mission of ecological restoration and sustainability.
