The United Nations Day

The Department of Public Administration successfully organized United Nations Day on October 24, 2024, marked by two engaging sessions: a special lecture and student activities.

Special Lecture

The morning session featured an online lecture titled “The Status of Human Rights in the Contemporary World Order.” The event began at 11:00 am with a welcome address by Prof. Riju Sharma, Head of the Department, followed by Dr. Santhosh J.’s introduction of the speaker and the theme.

Dr. Chakali Bramhayya, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Allahabad, delivered an insightful lecture from 11:10 am to 11:50 am, addressing pressing issues related to human rights in today’s world. The session concluded with a Q&A segment, allowing participants to engage with the speaker. Dr. Khaidem Yaiphabi Singha expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, concluding the session at 12:03 pm.

Student Activities

The afternoon was dedicated to interactive student activities, including poster-making and essay-writing competitions, held simultaneously from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. These events were facilitated by faculty members, including Dr. Khaidem Yaiphabi Singha, Ms. Manashi Parashar, Dr. Saurabh Chandra, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Kalita, and Mr. Rupak Biswas.

The celebration concluded with a prize distribution ceremony from 3:00 pm to 3:15 pm, led by Prof. Riju Sharma, Dr. Santhosh J., and other faculty members, recognizing and appreciating the participants’ creativity and efforts.
