Swachhata Special Campaign 5.0

On 11th October 2025, the Department of Zoology in collaboration with the Eco Club, Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia Campus, organized a cleaning drive under the “Swachhata Special Campaign 5.0: Clean Campus, Green Future.” The initiative was part of the nationwide cleanliness movement “Swachhata Hi Seva 2025” under the Swachh Bharat Mission.

The campaign aimed to unite students and faculty members of the Department of Zoology in fostering a cleaner and healthier campus environment. Beyond aesthetic benefits, the drive sought to raise awareness about environmental issues such as pollution and waste management, promoting sustainability within the university community.

The activity primarily focused on cleaning the premises of Academic Block 1, which houses the Department of Zoology, along with parts of Block 4. Students and faculty assembled by 9:00 a.m., after which a group photograph was taken. Participants were then divided into teams, each assigned specific areas such as classrooms, laboratories, reading rooms, and the parking lot. Equipped with cleaning tools, every group carried out their responsibilities with dedication and enthusiasm. The cleaning drive concluded successfully with the distribution of refreshments to all participants. The event not only strengthened the spirit of teamwork among students and faculty but also reinforced the university’s commitment to maintaining a clean, sustainable, and environmentally conscious campus.
