The Department of Zoology, under the School of Life Sciences was established in the year 2017 with PhD Programme and MSc Zoology with specializations in Entomology and Environmental Biology, Fishery Science, Animal Ecology and Wildlife Biology, and Cell and Molecular Biology. In 2019, the Department also launched BSc (Honours) Zoology.

As the Department is housed in the Tapesia Campus which is very rich in flora and fauna, the Department organises nature walk, birdwatching and other wildlife observation activities which expose students of Zoology to real life experience of nature. In addition, the Department has well equipped laboratories and dedicated, qualified and friendly faculty.
