World Heart Day Celebration-2026

Department of Zoology, Assam Don Bosco University
The Department of Zoology, Assam Don Bosco University proudly celebrated World Heart Day 2026 with the theme:
The Heart: From Evolution to Protection
The celebration brought together students and faculty to explore the fascinating evolution, function and importance of the heart, while creating awareness about the need to protect our cardiovascular health.
The programme featured a Heart-Health Awareness Talk and Pledge, followed by an engaging Student Poster Presentation Competition. Our students presented creative and scientifically informative posters covering topics ranging from the evolution of the heart and cardiovascular diseases to nutrition, exercise, stress, traditional knowledge and modern cardiovascular research.
The posters were displayed in the Atrium, Block 1, providing an opportunity for the wider university community to engage with the students’ work and ideas.
A heartfelt appreciation to all the students, faculty members, participants and organisers whose enthusiasm and support made the celebration meaningful and successful.
