Survey Camp 2026 Conducted for 6th Semester Civil Engineering Students at Assam Don Bosco University

The Department of Civil Engineering at Assam Don Bosco University, Azara, organized a Survey Camp for 6th-semester students from 24 to 30 January 2026 at a brick factory site near the university campus. The camp provided hands-on training in essential surveying techniques used in civil engineering practice. During the camp, students performed six field experiments including profile leveling for road construction using Auto Level, detailed mapping and contouring of an area, compass traversing with error adjustment, theodolite traversing with error adjustment, plane table surveying, and topographic survey using a Total Station. These activities helped students understand practical field procedures, data collection, and error correction methods. The camp viva was conducted on 06 March 2026, where students presented their field work and observations. Dr. Santanu Pathak from Assam Engineering College attended the evaluation as the external examiner. The survey camp strengthened students’ practical knowledge of surveying instruments and field techniques, bridging classroom learning with real-world engineering applications.
