The Department of Management successfully organized the Value-Added Course on Leadership Skills on 17th January 2025. The course has been designed in alignment with the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) as envisaged in the National Education Policy (NEP), aiming to equip students with essential leadership qualities and competencies.
This initiative seeks to provide students with an added advantage by preparing them to take on leadership roles in both professional and personal domains.
Event Highlights
The launch event commenced with a welcome address by the Course Coordinator, Dr Chayanika Das who emphasized the importance of integrating leadership development into the academic curriculum. The address highlighted the relevance of leadership skills in today’s dynamic environment and their alignment with the NEP’s vision of holistic and multidisciplinary education.
The coordinator also presented an overview of the course modules, outlining the key themes and learning areas to be covered. The course is structured on
- Leadership theories and frameworks
- Practical applications and case-based learning
- Interactive sessions and experiential learning
- Insights drawn from Indian epics such as the Mahabharata and the teachings of Chanakya
The curriculum integrates traditional wisdom with modern leadership practices, offering a unique and holistic learning experience.
The launch event was followed by series of lectures through out the semester.
By aligning with the Indian Knowledge System and NEP guidelines, the course is poised to nurture well-rounded individuals with strong leadership capabilities.
The enthusiastic participation and positive response from attendees reflect the course’s potential to shape future leaders equipped with both cultural insight and contemporary skills.
The course concluded on March 2025 with successful completion by 63 students, out of whom 23 participants scored Grade A .
