The Department of Social Work at Assam Don Bosco University organized a lecture- From Nordic Welfare to Emerging Social Protection Systems: Comparing Social Services in Finland and India—under the course Introduction to School Social Work on 27 February 2026, delivered by Ms. Menna Kuivalainen from the University of Eastern Finland. The session explored the structure of social services and child welfare systems in Finland, offering comparative insights into social work practices in Finland and India. It highlighted governance frameworks, professional roles, and therapeutic interventions within a Nordic welfare context. The lecture enriched students’ global perspectives and strengthened their understanding of social work practice, policy, and child protection systems.
