Lecture Sharing: Peace and Reconciliation in Post-Conflict: A case of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam

Prof. Peter Birkelund Andersen from the University of Copenhagen examined peace and reconciliation in post-conflict Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam on 24th November 2025. Drawing on conflict transformation and peacebuilding theory, he traced BTR’s journey from ethnic violence to negotiated settlements, highlighting the 2020 Bodo Peace Accord. The lecture emphasized inclusive governance, political autonomy, and institutional trust as foundations for sustainable peace. Prof. Andersen underscored community dialogue, recognition of historical grievances, and youth participation as critical to reconciliation.
