Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University Welcomes New Pharmacy Students with Orientation Program

The Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, warmly welcomed its new batch of B. Pharm and D. Pharm students with a well-structured orientation program held at GF-012A (Block 5) on 11th August 2025. The event was organized by the Student Chapter of the Institute to integrate freshers into the academic and cultural environment of the university.

The program began on a spiritual note with a prayer song, setting a respectful and positive atmosphere that resonated with the university’s values. Prof. Raja Chakraborty, Principal of the Institute of Pharmacy, delivered the welcome address, underscoring the institution’s commitment to guiding students in both academic and personal growth. Distinguished faculty members led specialized sessions to help students gain a clear understanding of their academic journey ahead:

  • Dr. T. Uriah introduced the Academic Curriculum, ensuring clarity about course structure and progression
  • Dr. W. Somraj Singh explained the Examination Patterns & Requirements, offering transparency on evaluation methods.
  • Prof. Deepak Sharma highlighted the Code of Conduct, reinforcing ethical and professional expectations.

A dedicated session introduced teaching and non-teaching staff, enabling students to recognize their academic support system from the very first day. Adding a vibrant touch, the orientation also featured extended peer interaction. Ice-breaking activities and student introductions lasting over an hour allowed freshers to connect with one another, laying the foundation for a strong sense of community. The program successfully combined guidance, institutional values, and camaraderie—ensuring the incoming batch steps confidently into their new academic journey
