Advancing River Engineering: Supran Chakravarty’s Latest Research Contribution

Supran Chakravarty, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, has contributed to a research article titled “Hydraulic response and sediment dynamics induced by varying wing thickness of spur dikes,” published in Elsevier’s Physics and Chemistry of the Earth. The study investigates how variations in the wing thickness of spur dikes influence flow behaviour, local scour, and sediment dynamics, providing useful insights for river-training and bank-protection applications. The publication reflects his continued research engagement in hydraulics, river engineering, and sediment transport, and adds to the growing research contributions of the Department of Civil Engineering, ADBU.
